Thank you for stopping by! My name is Maxann, a recent graduate from William Woods University with a Bachelor of Science degree in ASL Interpreting. In December of 2011, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a focus in Marketing Communications and PR. I also earned minors in Creative Writing and Spanish.
I currently work as the Communications Coordinator for RID, and reside in Northern Virginia. During my free time, I enjoy fresh mountain air for hiking, trips to the beach for paddle boarding, and whipping up new recipes in the kitchen. I am a former data analyst at Premier Healthcare, where I provided excellent communication and data analysis for many different hospitals throughout North and South Carolina. While beginning my progression towards certification, I worked in medical settings providing administrative assistance and patient care.
I also have an extensive resume with experience as the PR and Social Media Marketing Coordinator at Pulse Publishing. My current role at Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) exercises my passions and expertise in Communication Coordination and Advertising. I have a passion for different languages, journalism, integrated marketing communications, event coordinating, and PR. I would like to concentrate my interpreting goals in educational and medical settings.
On this site, I wish to share a few of my creative and professional writing samples as well as my interpreting abilities as you further consider me for a position at your company. I hope you enjoy looking around and each sample may provide a little insight to who I am, and the abilities I may one day contribute to your organization!
